Osmeña Peak: The 2nd Time Around

In preparation for the much-anticipated Mt. Talinis Climb, last June 15-16 I was able to visit Osmeña Peak again.

My attempt to create a long post failed. Not feeling chatty today. So I'll just post my favorite Osmeña Pictures!

Spring Trip

Inspired by a post from one of my favorite blogs, last Saturday the Jogurls went on a trio trip to Carmen. The trip was supposedly scheduled this weekend but since Charry and I's Osmena Peak trek was cancelled, we decided to replaced it with the Spring trip. It was lucky because Grace just had an early appointment.

Grace had to meet a friend at Urban Homes, Tipolo so we decided that Charry and I would rendezvous at SM then go to Urban Homes together. At 8:30 AM, Charry texted that she's on her way to SM. I panicked because I just finished my bath and still have to buy "Lechon Manok" at Snr. Pedro Lahug. I thought I miscalculated the time. Well, I didn't. Charry was just early. :P

I arrived at SM minutes before 9:30 AM, our agreed time. I texted Grace but there was no reply. We decided to just go to Urban Homes only if Grace texted us that she's already there. When SM opened at 10 AM, I remembered about my long overdue broadband sim block. While waiting, I processed the account. I didn't thought it would take too long. Grace had to wait almost an hour at north bus. Bad Sun service. Hmmmp!

We left North Bus Terminal aboard Ceres liner at 15 minutes to 12 noon. My bad for I didn't took notice of the time again. I think the ride to Carmen was just around an hour because Charry and I was chatting on the entire trip. Hmmm...

We told the conductor to drop us at Carmen public market. From there we hired habal-habal to Durano Ecofarm. We didn't know the fare beforehand. When we asked, the driver told us we had to pay 30 pesos each. Since we cannot be accommodated on a single ride, we had 2. Charry and Grace rode together. I took the lone ride making my pay 20 pesos higher. I had to pay for 2. Actually, the driver agreed to have me pay 45 pesos only but he was especially talkative so I allowed myself to pay him 5 peso more. :P

The place is nice but I expected something more. Actually, I don't know the more I'm looking for. Hehe! Upon reaching the bottom, one of the workers asked if we would like to get a table. It costs 200 pesos so we decided to pass but we're unable to find a cozy place to put our stuff so we didn't have a choice. Maybe, we have but we wanted the easy way out. :P

When we arrived, we had lunch, took some pictures and swimming after. We decided to take a dip at the first pool but since Grace can't swim, we decided to go to the 2nd pool. There were lots of kids there. We lingered for a while then finally had our longest dip at the 3rd pool.

We asked the drivers to fetched us at 5 PM. We were early by 15 minutes so we decided to stroll and took pictures. When they arrived, they ask if we like to stop by at the Benedictine Monastery(will post in detail soon). And we did, of course. I also asked them to stop at the ecofarm sign board and have our picture taken there. :D

We spent PHP 393 each for the trip. Next time, we target to spend just 300 each. Hmmm...and maybe, Mainit Spring in Catmon is next.

Fiesta Summer in Bohol

This was my 3rd time in Bohol. The first was a 4 days/3 nights tour with Migo's friends 4 years ago. The next was Migo and I attended a college friend's wedding.

When I decided to have 30.30.5, I was thinking of not going back to the place I once been. I broke that goal last year when I went back to Cagayan de Oro. With that, I made an amendment of the goal...it's OK to go back as long as the places I visited were different. That's the one consideration I had on this trip. I'm thankful that my consideration was met. Besides, even if the consideration was not met, I would still go. I wouldn't want to miss the chance to bond with these cool group. Not ever!

We arrived in Bohol via Starcraft to Getape. Fare is PHP 220. From there, we rode a tricycle for PHP 10 to the hiway where we rode a bus bound to Talibon for PHP 25. Most of us didn't had breakfast so we were starving when we arrived at Ryan's, our host for the tour. We settled for a while then had lunch.

The foods were all yummy but I especially liked eating crabs. I ate 3 big ones. Hahaha! I was glad Kim and Lawrence joined me on the quest because if they were not there, I'm sure I wouldn't stayed that long on the table. Hahaha!

After lunch, we decided to chill. Since we don't have anything to do, Migo's board games were bored savers. We played "no thanks", "uno" and "bohnanza".

I only played "no thanks" once. Then transferred to "uno". Charina won "no thanks" twice, then later replaced by BBbear. Migo, Ramer, Ricco, Jellie, John Jay and I played "uno" . I hate that game. Ahaha! It was too long. We we're not able to end the game properly. I quit because I got so bored I wanna play "bohnanza". :P

We only had 1 game with "bohnanza" because we were served snacks. Hehehe! After the snacks, John Jay suggested we play "in-di-an-pak-bom". It was a fun action game. I wanna play it again. Hehe! After rounds of that, Kim suggested we'd play "Wolf2x".

We had 2 rounds of "Wolf2x". The games was like "The Resistance". The players will each have their roles. The roles were hunter, spy, wolf, witch and villagers. There were 2 main groups wolves and villagers. Wolves win if they can kill all the villagers, villagers won otherwise. The witch can kill or heal anyone wounded by the wolf. The spy can spy on starting on the 2nd night. The hunter is not that useful. Haha!

On the first game, my team "Wolves" won. Yahooooo! On the 2nd game, the "Wolves" still won. But I'm no longer a wolf, I was 1 of the witches. And I protected the only wolf who survived. I hate that twist. Tsk! I wish I just go with my instinct. I should have killed Mira even if it means killing myself. Mira and I was a couple in the game. If she dies, I die. So when she was wounded, I healed her. On the last part, there were only 4 people alive. Mira, Jellie, Me and Ramer. Ramer and I are witches. So the decision was either to kill Mira or Jellie. I wanted to kill Mira because my instinct was strong that she was the wolf. Ramer insisted that we'd kill Jellie instead because we have healed Mira before. With that, we lose. :( Next time, I would really go on my gut feel.

After the games, we decided to stroll. Went to light candles, took pictures in the plaza and had grocery for the tour the next day.

Then dinner came. After dinner, I was so tired I slept while the others are chatting. At around 11 PM, the "singles" decided to stroll. It was fiesta after all. :)

We woke up early the next day for our tour. =)
